The Energic Connection to our Thoughts

It’s profoundly compelling to explore the expansive body of research illuminating the mind-body connection. Across diverse disciplines, scholars are decoding the subtle language of the body and soul. This language has an inner wisdom that often speaks differently than the narratives constructed of the mind.

Recently reflecting on the words of Dr. Sue Morter, founder of Morter Institute and working in Bioenergetic for 40 years. She stated,

“Trying to solve the issue of the mind with the mind, the mind is designed to be serving something greater than itself. It is not a self-unto itself it’s a part of a whole. So if we identify as the mind, which is a majority people – they think what they think is true, they think that they are their thoughts and they act is if it is. We have to teach people to believe they are not all their thoughts to give them the space to make some better decisions than their repetitious, analytical, conclusion drawing self is to pull us into as a means of survival”.

Reflecting on this

What does this mean to you?
Do you currently identify as your thoughts?

To expand on this idea deeper, if a majority of people are identifying as their minds, which in turn is their thoughts, the quality of their thoughts are truly the changing point. For example, if you repeatedly cycle through negative thoughts, you are wiring your brain to feed you more of the negative. The system is a self-fulfilling prophecy in that way. As those thoughts embed over time, either with one large event or a small event over a period of time, you’re programming your subconscious in that direction. Those thoughts now shape the reality we as individuals create and expand us in the direction of those thoughts.

Now reversing that on its head and focusing on positive thoughts. Those thoughts with higher vibrational frequency embed that same programming, or reprogramming, into your subconscious, allowing for the quality of those thoughts to expand into more positive feelings and actions.

“Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so”

William Shakespeare

When you stay in a frequency over time, it rewires the way you think, feel, and exist in the world in which we create. Higher vibrational thoughts include gratitude and love, where lower vibrational thoughts are thoughts of jealousy or self-loathing. To validate this further, in 2025 research out of Quantum Clinic states “Research has shown that positive thoughts can boost the immune system, reduce stress and improve overall physical health” (2025).

It’s essential to recognize that this work reaches profound depths and contains countless intricate layers that together form a meaningful whole. Each person moving through this world inhabits a uniquely crafted inner universe. While we share common experiences and collective language, remembering that each of us is continually shaping and reshaping our reality in every moment. This invites us to have greater compassion, patience and openness toward the struggles or limitations others may carry.
