Human interaction and the need for strong interpersonal skills is changing as we move into a technological driven world. The workplace has been changing rapidly over the past ten years, the drivers and needs of individual employees is far more intertwined into personal value and purpose, than we have seen in any prior decades of the workforce.
As individuals become more aligned with what matters to them on an intrinsic level, both within the organizational structure and outside of it, the needs and drivers for up-skilling changes and morphs into what can be translated into developed on both a personal level and within your professional life.
There can no longer be a division between developing one facet vs the other, because it is in fact all connected. As individuals are told to show up with their full selves at work, they are showing with a need to develop the whole self and that comes with unique perspective, background and experiences.
While the way of the workforce has changed dramatically in the twenty-first century, the need to find intrinsic value has also changed and continues to increase with newer generations entering into the workforce.
